A Syrian man expects the government to give their family child benefits for his three wives and twenty children, Deham Al Hasan who is a 47-year-old family man fled to Denmark from Syria with his family, it will cost Denmark greatly, he is expected to receive DKK 214,000 ($32,120) yearly from the government as he said he can’t work for himself to provide for the family.
Hasan arrived in Denmark alone and has been given approval to bring one of his wives and 17 of his children from Syria, his three eldest children are too old to receive benefits from the Denmark government.
Hasan says he misses his family and cannot work due to psychology problems, he can’t learn the new language either, the man fled from Syria as he couldn’t afford to care for his family in Syria and heard he could receive child benefits from a country like Denmark.
Denmark has followed this case closely and the parliament are in talks of debating new child benefit laws, some reports say the government will only allow up to four children to receive child benefits.
The man has tried to take advantage of the system and failed, he has allowed the government to investigate this and change laws, share and let us know your comments.
