Hijab Challenge Lets Students At Fresno State Be Muslims For One Day

in USA by

Fresno State’s Muslim Student Association had hosted a Hijab Challenge recently so that non-Muslim students could experience just how it feels to wear head scarves and be viewed as Muslims.

Kate Hobbs, one of the students trying it on said that it felt tighter than she thought. She said she heard it could be liberating to wear a hijab since it gave her a chance to be a woman without showing off her body and that was something which interested her.

Leftist women have also been arguing for liberation by taking part in things like ‘Free the Nipple’ and ‘Go Topless Day’ throughout the United States.

Muslim women were giving out free scarves and even wrapping them for other students. They even offered kufis, caps, etc. for men.

The challenge was conducted at the Free Speech area, near the Henry Madden Library on their campus. The day ended with a lecture which was titled, Anti-Muslim, Anti-Arab Discrimination, and Civil Rights. This was conducted in the Alice Peters Auditorium of the school.

The Hijab Challenge even included taking photos and posting them on social media using a unique hashtag, #FSHijabChallenge, then wearing the scarf throughout the day and talking about their entire experience.

The hashtag didn’t receive too much traction online even though there was one Muslim man who did than the people involved for dressing like Mary, Jesus’ mother instead of a Kardashian.

A female student from Fresno State spoke about her experience with a hijab on her Instagram account saying it proved to be quite interesting. She was even asked why she chose to wear it and that it was freaking out her friends. But she enjoyed the experience.

There was a man who put on a Kufi and posted a picture along with the caption “Love Trumps Hate.” This was also an allusion to his dislike for Donald Trump, the Republican’s presidential nominee.
