In a recent interview, President Barack Obama stated that he was sure that he could have won the election for a third term if it was permitted by the constitution. Although he has the right to say whatever he wants, Donald Trump expressed his disagreement about this statement.
Donald Trump responded in a tweet saying,
“President Obama said that he thinks he would have won against me. He should say that but I say NO WAY! – jobs leaving, ISIS, OCare, etc.”
According to Trump, Obama’s last term was nothing short of a disaster. He promised things which turned out extremely wrong for the country and the people.
Exhibit A: Obamacare. Obamacare was meant to ease the burden of medical expenses on the people, but it somehow managed to do the complete opposite. Insurance premiums became higher than ever with most people not being able to afford basic health insurance.
Exhibit B: ISIS. According to Trump, Obama did not make complete efforts to contain the menace that is ISIS. He thinks this is a strong point which may be the reason why his running for president again would not have turned out in his favor.
President elect Trump has arguably valid points against Obama’s support. Considering the 2016 elections, it seems like the people were fed up with the democrats and wanted to see some effective action taken against the issues that United States have been facing.
Obama continued in the interview that he had a chance to meet with some of the Americans who don’t agree with him on politics but they have applauded him for the vision he has for the country. The problem is that a vision is just a thought without making an effort to successfully implement it for the people and the country.
