Donald Trump, who was constantly criticized, made a laughing stock all over television and social media, and being called one of the worst candidates in the history of the United States elections, is now reaping the sweet fruits of victory after a bitter battle.
One such incident took place on Friday, when Trump went to the Conservative Political Action Conference which Trump was booed out of, in the recent past.
Two years ago when President Trump attended the conference, he received a lot of criticism from everyone when he mentioned “U.S. boots on the ground” to Syria. The following year, Trump decided not to attend the conference and there was no point in doing so because at that point, the majority was thinking that Trump would finish in third place behind senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.
Since his name has Commander-in-chief associated with it, now was the right time to make a comeback to the platform that had once not agreed with his ideology. The same crowd that was giving thumbs down and shouting out boos gave President Trump a standing ovation with cheers and tears.
During his speech, he made a little joke about him not attending the conference last year.
“I would have come last year, but I was worried that I would be too controversial,” Trump teased the crowd who were absolutely loving every minute of him speaking.
The address contained him talking about how the media needs to be better controlled because they are allowed to spread any news the way they want to twist it.
Overall the address encircled familiar themes, but this was a way of Trump telling all who were against him that I was right and now you know it. A truly triumphant comeback for the commander in chief for he was able to turn the tide at the same conference and receive congratulations and praise from the same people who deemed him not worthy of running the country.
