Trudeau will be flying back to Canada from Peru to hold emergency meeting on Kinder Morgan dispute

The Prime Minister’s office announced Justin Trudeau will be returning to Canada after his visit concludes in Peru.

A joint meeting will be held with both Alberta and B.C. NDP leader to pursues the federal approved Kinder Morgan pipeline.

“The prime minister will be returning to Ottawa following his visit to Peru to convene a meeting on Sunday, April 15 with the premiers of Alberta and British Columbia to discuss next steps for moving the Trans Mountain Expansion project forward,” said spokesperson Eleanore Catenaro.

“Further details will be made available in due course.”

Kinder Morgan halted operations because of pressure from the B.C. Government and protesters, they said if no deal is reached by May 31, the company will pull out complete.
