Lately, ISIS or Islamic State has been behind a string of heinous acts that have been designed to shock the conscious. Point is, ISIS is like cancer, and we all know that cancer is bad for you. Despite carrying out atrocities in various countries, and having a steady presence in Iraq, Syria, and CNN’s Homepage, ISIS, so far hasn’t been much of a threat to Canada.So, does that mean we’re in the clear? Not quite!
According to reports, CBC recently obtained a copy of a hit-list from United Cyber Caliphate, a group of pro ISIS hackers who act as ISIS IT resource. The list contains the names, addresses and email addresses of around 8,300 people from around the world. And while it’s hard to tell what links all the names on the list, what’s even more interesting is that, if the list is legit (and it probably is!), 151 Canadians are going to receive a very uncomfortable phone call from the Police. The good news is that there have been no indications that anybody on these hit lists have ever been harmed, making its sole purpose to keep people on edge and the police on their toes. However, you can’t just leave incidents like these to chance, so much depends on what is being don’t about the growing problem of ISIS, which has officially included Canada in its “infidels that deserve to die” list. The following are some of the ways in which that can be done.
Stop Turkey from Bombing Kurdish Forces
Described as one of the most lethal anti-ISIS forces on the ground, Syrian Kurds have consistently won battles against ISIS. The problem – The Turkish government has been conducting air strikes against the Kurds almost continuously in an attempt to suppress a push for independence by the PKK (Kurdistan Worker’s Party) in Iraq. While the EU and NATO regard the PKK as a terrorist organization, the US is backing the People’s Protection Units or YPG, which is a group of Syrian Kurdish rebels that are fighting against ISIS. The question that’s baffling here is how can PKK be labeled as a terrorist organization while the YPG are freedom fighters?
Support the Assad Regime
Although the Obama administration will squirm at the thought, the best way to foster stability in the region is by supporting the despotic Assad regime. While US, Britain and France oppose the idea, Russia seems to be the only one who has clearly decided whose side we need to be on in order to defeat the growing threat of ISIS.
Trump’s Foolproof Plan
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate had announced earlier this year that he had a “foolproof” plan to defeat ISIS, he just didn’t want to share it with the rest of the world…and ISIS. While he hasn’t said much about it during the campaign, he did mention of his plan to Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly;
“Once you go over and take back that oil, they have nothing. You bomb the hell out of them, and then you encircle it, and then you go in. And you let Mobil go in, and you let our great oil companies go in. Once you take that oil, they have nothing left.”
