A couple living in Cobblestone Property in Oshawa were told to remove their Canada flag from their apartment balcony just weeks before Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations.
This is the first time the pair was told to remove the flag after having it there every year.
Ken Ball lives on the fifth floor of an apartment building at 141 Taunton Rd. E. He regularly displays a Canada flag which is on a PVC flag poll that is slotted into his balcony railing.
“I had it out last year, nobody said nothing,” said Ball, who has lived in the building for about eight years. “I take it down in the winter, bring it inside.”
But this year, Ball received a letter on June 5 from Cobblestone Property Management telling him to remove the flag.
