Are you a business owner in Canada, do you want a gender ‘certification system’? You may be in luck, the Canadian government announces $850,000 to create this system.
The system will be created to protect women from illegal harassment in the workplace.
The Liberal government is devoting nearly $860,000 to a project that could end up creating a certification system to let Canadians know how well companies are doing when it comes to gender equality.
The three-year project led by the UN’s Global Compact Network Canada will involve working with the private sector to develop a plan to get rid of the barriers women face in the workplace, including better policies on sexual harassment and balancing a job with caring for a family.
On #IWD2018 I am pleased to announce that the Government of Canada is investing $858,500 in funding to @GlobalCompactCA for a project that will engage the private sector to eliminate barriers facing women in the workplace. https://t.co/O57qj3ZK8g pic.twitter.com/TqW6coowtm
