A Muslim woman who was rejected from a job for refusing to shake the male interviewer’s hand has been awarded £3,000 in compensation.
Farah Alhajeh, 24, was a candidate for a role as an interpreter but upon arrival, told the male interviewer she could not shake his hand.
She instead greeted him by placing a hand over her heart, as is common among Muslims.
But she claims she was told the interview was over and instructed to leave the office in Stockholm, Sweden.
