Angelina Jolie Shares Feelings about Harvey Weinstein & His Work with Ex-husband Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie opened up in a recent interview about how she felt when her ex-husband, Brad Pitt worked with the convicted sex offender and former film producer Harvey Weinstein. Scroll down to find out her reaction.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who tied the knot in 2014, used to be one of the most powerful couples in Hollywood. Dubbed “Brangelina,” the former couple were Oscar winners and among the highest-paid film stars.

However, they shocked the world after Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016. The divorce was finalized two years ago. Among the issues that rocked their relationship was the actor’s ties with Harvey Weinstein.

Weinstein now serves a 23-year jail sentence for rape and sexual assault. In a recent The Guardian interview, Jolie said that prior to Weinstein’s conviction, Pitt was happy to work with him. She added:

“We fought about it. Of course it hurt.”

Jolie claimed that Weinstein sexually harassed her while working on the 1998 film “Playing by Heart.” After that experience, the Oscar-winning actress recalled warning people not to work with him.

Pitt first worked with Weinstein in the 2009 film “Inglourious Basterds,” which was directed by Quentin Tarantino. The Weinstein Company co-produced the critically-acclaimed movie.

Paltrow said she felt petrified after Weinstein’s inappropriate behavior at that time.

Afterward, Pitt continued working with Weinstein and his production company on the 2012 film “Killing Them Softly.” The disgraced producer’s company later became the movie’s distributor.

The 46-year-old actress and mother of six shared that she avoided attending Pitt’s promotional events. She also turned down a role in “The Aviator” after learning of Weinstein’s involvement in it.

Meanwhile, Pitt previously spoke against Weinstein in 2019. The 57-year-old actor opened up about confronting the former producer on behalf of his ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.

Pitt alleged that Weinstein made advances towards Paltrow during a meeting for the 1996 movie “Emma.” He spoke directly to him because the “Iron Man” actress was going to do two films under Weinstein’s company at that time.

Paltrow said she felt petrified after Weinstein’s inappropriate behavior at that time. Besides her and Jolie, more women stepped forward with their harrowing stories of harassment and sexual assault at the hands of Weinstein, who denied the allegations.

Amid the unfortunate experience with Weinstein and her ongoing custody battle against Pitt, Jolie said she just wanted her family to heal and live a peaceful life.

The couple finalized their divorce in 2019, but they remain in a legal war after Jolie alleged domestic violence against Pitt. Both are parents to six kids – Maddox, Paz, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
