Nicki Chapman is used to living a quiet life off-camera – but has given fans an insight into her gorgeous slice of paradise in West London.
It’s not what you might expect.
Alongside co-stars Jules Hudson, Alistair Appleton and Jonnie Irwin, the BBC Escape to the Country presenter has been helping house buyers find their dream property for nearly 20 years.

Although she chose to live in the capital over a quiet countryside residence, she previously told House Beautiful that despite living in London, she had made her Chiswick house her “oasis”.
Her home is effortlessly stylish with lots of white furnishings with wooden accents but the thing she’s proudest of most it seems is her garden.
Nicki showed off her lush refurbished garden last month to her 43,000 Instagram followers.
She said: “So here is the brand new garden, which I managed to film in between the showers a couple of weeks ago. The white hydrangeas are now in full bloom.
“Massive thank you to @markgregory1960 & the @landformuk team for creating a perfect piece of paradise for us. I’m thrilled with the end result and know I will have hours and hours of pleasure pottering around and enjoying this special place.
“The design brief for this courtyard garden was to have a space we could “escape into”, somewhere to have drinks with friends, and catch some evening sunlight, with planting to give year-round interest.
“The design includes a bespoke water feature, designed by Landform and fabricated by Outdoor Design, and is enhanced by stylish Atelier Vierkant pots.”
Last year, the TV star shared a video on Instagram of her garden which was her own slice of paradise – complete with palm trees and a modern terraced area.
Although the pair have decided to get rid of the palm trees due to how difficult it was to maintain them, the garden still retains a colourful exotic feel – with plenty shrubs and greenery.
She added: “Everything we bought in this garden 13 years ago was a foot high. It’s been amazing over the years but it’s time for an overhaul I think.
“This small but beautiful garden has helped keep me happy over the past 13 years, more than ever in 2020.
“Proudest moment was when we were able to film in it for the RHS Chelsea Flower show. I gave myself a gold medal.
“It’s my escape, my sanctuary, my special place.”

Chapman loves the garden so much that back in July, she celebrated her 22nd wedding anniversary there with music mogul Dave Shackleton – who was appointed as head of Iron Maiden management company in 2013.
Although many people choose to celebrate anniversaries in hotels, restaurants or even with a holiday abroad, they were content celebrating with her husband in their back garden.
Posting a loved up picture of the pair, she said: “Here we go! 22 years married today. Happy wedding anniversary to my gorgeous @shacky01.
“We were married two days after his birthday so neither of us can forget the date!! Sizzling hot day at Syno House. Best day of my life.
“Feels just like yesterday. Peeps normally post romantic pics from exotic locations. We’ve gone for our back garden in West London.”
