Season 11 of ‘The Walking Dead’ will serve to put an end to a series that was a huge bombshell at the time but whose popularity has been in (increasingly) low hours for years. Now the AMC channel has launched the first images of the latest installment of this adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic.
Alexandria on the brink of collapse
This handful of images makes it clear to us that the situation in Alexandria is on the brink of collapse and the survivors will have to do everything possible to keep it being the home it once was, something that also anticipates us. official synopsis of this season 11:
Alexandria is severely compromised, left a shell of the home it once was from the carnage and devastation wrought by the Whisperers. Now everyone living in Alexandria is struggling to re-fortify it and feed its ever-growing residents, including the survivors of the Kingdom and Hilltop, along with Maggie and her new group, the “Watchers.”
Alexandria has more people than it can handle, feed, and protect. The situation is dire as the stresses of past events and self-preservation come to the surface within its ravaged walls. The protagonists must secure more food as they try to restore Alexandria before it collapses like the rest of the communities they have crossed over the years.
But where and how? More gaunt and hungry than ever, they must dig even deeper to find the effort and strength necessary to safeguard the lives of their children, even if it means losing their own.
Of course, it may be the final season of ‘The Walking Dead’, but there is still something to say goodbye to the series, since it will be divided into three batches of eight episodes each, so we still have ahead 24 chapters before we have to say goodbye to her.
Also, the end of ‘The Walking Dead’ does not mean the death of the franchise for AMC, since the chain has several projects underway to move forward with this universe. Among them stands out the idea of making three films with Andrew Lincoln returning to the character of Rick Grimes. However, it was almost three years since it was announced and we are still waiting for it to materialize into something tangible …
As we mentioned at the time, season 11 of ‘The Walking Dead’ will premiere in the United States next August 22.
