In 1947 an important chapter was written in the world of fashion. Christian Dior presented his first Haute Couture collection, and he did it surrounded by the divas of the moment, such as Rita Hayworth or Vivien Leigh, who were some of the privileged ones who were impacted by a new style: the New Look. Today at the Haute Couture fashion show, Maria Grazia Chiuri has reinterpreted it with looks two-piece with fitted waists and skirts with a certain volume and avant-garde jackets with puff sleeves.

A very outstanding show because it represents the recovery of the values of Haute Couture, after this period of restrictions, where the Dior collections designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri were presented mainly through the cinema on its wonderful red carpets. For these occasions the designer proposes us impressive vaporous dresses, of semi-transparent and pleated fabrics, play of asymmetries in the neckline and flawless layered designs.

The details make the difference: braided necklines, mesh fabric combined with lace that have that gothic touch that the designer likes so much, ruffles with a lot of volume, jackets with rounded shoulder pads and trousers with a ruffle that surrounds the waist with effect peplum. Simply wonderful pieces.

Recalling the Salle aux Broderies in the Colonna Palace in Rome, the work Chambre de Soie created by the French artist Éva Jospin, serves as a backdrop for the presentation of all the creations. A parade inspired by the history of embroidery and in this case the decoration of the space has been a spectacular landscape embroidery.
