Ben-Hur leaves us the first trailer of his remake

Paramount has released the first official trailer of the new adaptation of Ben-Hur. The director responsible for Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Timur Bekmambetov, is in charge of this remake of the classic, set in the Roman era of Judea.

The trailer shows the plot around which the film will revolve very well. Ben-Hur he is suffering for his destiny. Unjustly accused of treason and estranged from the woman he loves, he is forced to live like a slave.

The film has a script prepared by Keith Clarke (The Way Back) and reviewed by John Ridley (12 years of slavery) and is based on the 1880 novel by Lew Wallace, Be- Hur: A tale of the christ.

“The scenes of the chariot and the slave ships are very important in this story… We were very aware of this fact and we tried to make it as real as possible… We really wanted to give everyone the feeling that this is real. Because that’s what Ben-Hur is. When you think of Ben-Hur you see the chariots and you see this incredible character and the ark. So we knew that we had to put all our effort there “- he said Timur Bekmambetov.

Two previous films have already been created from this same story. One in 1925 starring Ramon Navarro and another in 1959 with Charlon Heston to the head. This second film won a whopping 11 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director (William Wyler) and Best Supporting Actor (Hugh Griffith).

Leading the cast of actors we meet Jack Huston (The Great American Scam and Boardwalk Empire), Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Morgan Freeman (Lucy y The Last Knights), Rodrigo Santoro (300 and Focus), Nazani Boniadi (Desert Dancer and The Next Three Days), Ayelet Zurery (Angels and demons and The Man of Steel), Pilou Asbæk (Lucy and Krigen) and John Ridley (The winner of an Oscar for 12 years of slavery).
