The new sports streaming platform, DAZN, is now available in France. Boxing on the program for less than 2 € / month but a clear ambition.
DAZN is now discreetly landing on the French market with a no-obligation subscription at € 1.99 / month. Originally planned for last May, its launch was finally postponed due to the pandemic. The English platform owned by billionaire Len Blavatnik, one of the richest men in the United Kingdom (Warner Music, Deezer), has the means to fulfill its ambitions. Considered the Netflix of Sports, DAZN has 8 million subscribers in 9 countries. The pure player of sports broadcasting intends to conquer the world today with a launch this morning in 200 countries including France.
Already present among others in football in the United Kingdom (Boxing Day of the Premiere League), in Germany (Bundesliga and Champions League), in Spain (Liga) and in Italy (Serie A), DAZN made its debut in France with limited rights by offering only boxing live and in replay with the first fight broadcast live on December 12, the one between the British Anthony Joshua and the Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev.
Limited content but an interest in French football
Beyond the live fights, DAZN offers documentaries, weekly shows and classic fights but also feature films on different athletes. But some observers already imagine the ambitious British platform to be interested in French football.
