‘Production iPhone 12 mini scaled back due to popularity Pro version’ – News

Apple is said to have reduced production of the iPhone 12 mini due to an unexpectedly high demand for the more expensive iPhone 12 Pro versions. That reports the website Cult of Mac, based on information from analysts at investment bank Morgan Stanley.

With the introduction of the new generation of iPhones this fall, only six percent of all models sold would have been a mini. With its screen diagonal of 5.4 inches, the mini is Apple’s most compact and affordable high-end smartphone, with prices starting at 809 euros. The ‘regular’ iPhone 12 (with 6.1-inch screen) starts at 909 euros, the 12 Pro (also 6.1-inch) at 1,159 euros and the 12 Pro Max (with 6.7-inch display) has a starting price of 1,259 euros.

New design and 5G

According to experts, the great success of the iPhone 12, the most popular model since the iPhone 6 from 2014, is due to the new design, the improved cameras, 5G and the faster A13 chip.

Apple estimated that a large group of people would need a smaller smartphone, as most phones have gotten a lot bigger over the years. That statement may also be correct, but apparently many Apple enthusiasts still prefer the iPhone SE. It is less powerful, smaller (4.7-inch) but with 492.10 euros also significantly cheaper than an iPhone 12 mini.
