Fitbit introduces smartwatch with temperature sensor and stress meter – News

Fitbit has launched two new smartwatches and a fitness tracker at a press event. The eye-catcher is the Fitbit Sense, a smart timepiece with some innovative features, such as a skin temperature sensor and an electrodermal activity sensor (EDA) that measures the stress level.

The Fitbit Sense combines all the ‘classic’ health and fitness features found on other Fitbit watches, including an integrated GPS receiver. The novelties include a skin temperature sensor, a stress meter and a larger AMOLED screen with an optional always-on mode. The battery life was increased to more than six days.

The waterproof Sense is equipped with a microphone and speaker to take calls and answer text messages. The gadget’s interface was also overhauled. This is now also available in Dutch, just like the accompanying Fitbit app. The target price is 329.95 euros, and that includes a six-month trial subscription to Fitbit Premium (with extra detailed information about your health and activities).

The company also introduced the Versa 3 this week, with new health and fitness features, an integrated GPS function and access to the Google Assistant. Target price: 229.95 euros.

Finally, Fitbit suggested the Inspire 2. The updated fitness tracker offers a longer battery life (up to ten days) and some new features, such as Minutes in Active Zones. This device changes hands for 99.95 euros.

Fitbit’s new smartwatches and fitness tracker will be in stores from the end of September.
