Dual screen smartphone from Microsoft costs $1,399 – News

Microsoft has a launch date and price for its dual-screen smartphone. But the device is not coming to Belgium for the time being.

The Surface Duo, Microsoft’s first smartphone since it parted ways with Windows Phone and Nokia in 2016, is an Android device that consists of two screens. In October last year, the company already lifted a tip of the veil.

Now, the company has announced that the Surface Duo will be available in the US starting September 10 for $1,399.99 (125GB storage) or $1,499.99 (256GB storage). Microsoft confirms to HLN that the device will not come to Belgium for the time being.

Much more besides the price is currently unknown. It is an Android device with two 5.6-inch screens that together open up to one 8.1-inch screen. Unlike Huawei or Samsung, Microsoft is not going for one folding screen, but for two screens that are close to each other, as LG has been doing for two years now.

With its new smartphone, Microsoft mainly focuses on business users. It obviously emphasizes the possibility to work with Microsoft 365 and interaction with a (not included) stylus is possible.
