The nationwide seven-day incidence of corona infections has fallen further and is now 16.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. As the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported on Monday morning, citing information from the health authorities, 549 new infections and ten deaths in connection with the virus were registered within one day.
Last Monday, 1117 new infections were counted. The seven-day incidence was 24.3 a week ago. The value is an essential benchmark for tightening or relaxing corona requirements. It indicates the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.
The number of new infections is usually lower on the weekend and on Monday than the weekly average, because fewer tests are carried out on the weekends and fewer test results are transmitted.
According to the RKI, the total number of corona cases recorded in Germany since the beginning of the pandemic is now 3,715,518. The total number of registered deaths rose to 89,844. The RKI put the number of those recovered from Covid 19 disease at 3,580,600.

Wismar: Corona vaccination campaign at MV Werften
