  • The environmental associations Green League and NABU filed an urgent application against the provisional building permits for the factory in Grünheide on Wednesday.
  • The Brandenburg State Office for the Environment (LfU) had rejected an application to cancel the implementation of the permits. That said the lawyer for the environmental associations, Thorsten Deppner, Business Insider and “Frontal21”.
  • The case is now being decided by the Frankfurt-Oder Administrative Court.

The environmental associations Green League and the Nature Conservation Union Germany (NABU) filed an urgent application against the provisional building permits for the factory in Grünheide at the Frankfurt Oder administrative court on Wednesday.

The associations are calling on the court to clarify the matter as quickly as possible and to issue a swift judgment. The Brandenburg State Office for the Environment (LfU) had previously rejected an application to terminate the implementation of the permits. Business Insider and “Frontal21” found out about this from the lawyer for the environmental associations. With this step they tried to avert a legal dispute – in vain.

The urgent application is made after an accident report became public a few weeks ago, which warned of the risks posed by explosive gas clouds and the possible escape of irritant gas in the car factory’s paint shop. Tesla is not well enough prepared for these scenarios, according to the report. With the latest preliminary approval, Tesla is already allowed to test devices in the paint shop.
