Windows 11: Know if you’ll have to pay or it’s a free upgrade!

After six years of Windows 10, here we are entitled to a new version of Windows. In fact, Windows 11 seems to have many elements to captivate users and even a preview version has escaped for the Internet. However, there are many other issues. Is Windows 11 a free upgrade like Windows 10 or will you have to pay? That’s what we’ll explain to you in the next few lines.

Windows 11: Know if you’ll have to pay or it’s a free upgrade!

Although Microsoft hasn’t officially announced anything yet, the answer seems to be yes. At least according to various sources.

Windows 11 is the next big version of Windows and the one we got back six years later. It’s definitely a long time, considering there was news every three years. However, it makes sense that with Windows 10 it wasn’t like that. After all, Microsoft got fed up with launching new things. So feature updates started arriving twice a year.

But is Windows 11 something completely different?

If we look at the name we are led to think that we have big news. However, this is not exactly true. But there are many changes as referred to by XDA.

Lately, there has been a lot of talk about the Sun Valley version. We always thought this would be just another feature update for Windows 10. However, Microsoft wanted to do something new and change the name from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This is because it added several aspects that contribute to a new design. In fact, we have a new graphics very inspired by Windows 10X.

What can happen on installation?

If you’re using Windows 10, installing Windows 11 won’t be much different than installing a feature update. In fact, the process is very similar and all data is kept. So, if you are using Windows 10 and have a valid license, you can switch to Windows 11 for free and without any major challenges.

If you’re using Windows 7 or 8.1 there’s good news too. Windows 11 contains configuration files that are used for users to migrate from those versions of Windows.

Windows 11 free

Windows 10 is a free upgrade for anyone on 7 or 8.1. So Windows 11 will also continue to be.

But beware, if you’re on Windows 8, you’ll have to upgrade to 8.1 first.

But is the new operating system free then?

Nim. That is, if you have a valid license for a previous version, yes. If you don’t have any license then you will need to buy Windows 11 just like you would with Windows 10.
