In recent days, within the scope of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new development has emerged with regard to events. The Government wants anyone who participates in events with more than 10 people to test negative.
However, according to the decision of the Council of Ministers, if you have the digital certificate you do not need to submit a test.
Digital Certificate can be obtained from the SNS portal
According to the Minister of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, if you are in possession of a digital certificate, you can dispense with the presentation of a test with a negative SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic result for participation in public events.
The minister underlined that "The introduction of testing in these events is a guarantee that they can continue to exist and that we have no risk of having to make a significant reduction in this type of activities".
In a joint statement released on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health, the General Directorate of Health (DGS) and the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health explained that, to obtain the digital certificate, the citizen must access the NHS portal 24, follow the instructions and choose the type of certificate you want.
After validating the order, the document is made available on the portal or can be sent later to the 'email address' indicated, without any associated costs. “To improve cross-border acceptance, it is written in Portuguese and in English”, stress the authorities.
The authorities also clarify that, "soon, it will be possible to obtain certificates on other platforms, as well as access to the rapid molecular test certificate".
According to the European Digital Certificate Regulation, the European verification systems must all be in force from the 1st of July.
