Monday was marked by several complaints with the increase in waiting times to receive the vaccine in various places in the country and at the end of the afternoon the Municipality of Oeiras blamed the task force for the long lines that were felt at the vaccination center in Carnaxide.
The mayor of the municipality, Isaltino Morais, refuses the municipality’s responsibilities and blames the task force that coordinates the entire process for having sent a summons to users without an appointment, omitting the time at which this type of users must present themselves. Only on the spot did people realize that without an appointment they could only be seen from 1pm to 2pm and from 6pm to 7pm.
Contacted by TSF, the official source of the task force refuses that there was any call without a time. What happened was information sent to all the media with the hypothesis that those over 45 years old would receive the vaccine without an appointment (Open House model) or by anticipating the second dose of AstraZeneca.
The task force guarantees that, in all these communications, it advises users to look for, beforehand, on the National Health Service website, the time at which they can look for these vaccines without an appointment (https://covid19.min-saude.pt/vacinacao-covid/) – hours that vary and are not the same in all vaccination centers in the country.
These warnings were not, however, sufficient to prevent many users without an appointment, due to ignorance or lack of information, from seeking to receive a vaccine this Monday outside the scheduled hours.
The times of the vaccination centers for anticipating the second dose of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) can be consulted neste link.
The schedules of vaccination centers to try to be vaccinated in the Open House scheme are found neste link.
