Covid Pass - Mode of operation
The Pass Covid app is now available for Android, iOS and also on Huawei AppGallery. For everything to work, just point the phone's camera to read the QR code of the Certificate displayed.
The certificate can be presented in paper or in digital format. The app will automatically verify the certificate.
- A result with a green signal means that the certificate has been successfully validated.
- A result with a red mark means that the certificate is not valid (validation includes checking the authenticity of the certificate and complying with the health rules of the country).
This application does not guarantee the security of the holder of the COVID Digital Certificate in relation to the COVID-19, nor its identity, serving only to validate the authenticity of the certificate.
According to the statement…
For verification purposes, only the validity and authenticity of the certificate are inspected, verifying who issued and signed it, in addition to the application of the rules issued by the DGS. During the process, only the name, date of birth and information about its validity verification will be displayed. No personal data is stored by the application.
The presentation of the COVID Digital Certificate does not serve as a form of identification of the holder, always lacking the presentation of a valid and legitimate official identification document.
This app was developed by the National Press Casa da Moeda. The validation of the certificate is done “by pointing the mobile phone camera at the QR code of the COVID Digital Certificate presented (in paper or in digital format)”.
According to the statement, “The result can be positive or negative: a result with a green signal means that the COVID Digital Certificate has been successfully validated; a red-marked result means the certificate is not valid”.
