That we can have again Nirvana on stage is an impossible that we will always dream of, keeping the memory alive of Kurt Cobain in front of the band. But there have already been several occasions in which the rest of the band members have gotten together to play some songs counting on outstanding collaborations as vocalists.

Now it’s been his own Dave Grohl, current leader of Foo Fighters and Nirvana’s battery, the one who has revealed in el show de Howard Stern what Krist Novoselic, Pat Smear and he goes through the studio regularly and has recorded new songs: “Krist Novoselić is a pilot, he flies his own plane… he lives in the Pacific Northwest and when he comes to Los Angeles, you know, we always love to see each other and go out to dinner. The last time he was here I made dinner and we went out. Pat is always around, and the three of us like to be together. We like to see each other and if there are instruments around or a studio that is available, we will get together and improvise. We don’t like going through a big old Nirvana song list, but we like to hang out and sometimes when we’re playing songs come through. And if we are in a studio, we are going to record them. So we’ve recorded some things that are really cool, but we’ve never done anything with them. For us it’s more like friends, improvising, it’s really not like a big official meeting or anything like that ”.

Given the interest in who is in charge of singing, given his good work in front of Foo Fighters, Grohl responds: “No, I’m just playing the drums. We don’t have a singer. So, it’s like we’re recording instrumentals and, and just hanging out. There’s no pressure to do something the world will have to listen to, it’s more just for fun, and that’s really cool. It reminds you that when the three of us get together in a venue and start to play, it sounds like it sounded, it sounds like before. When Krist and I get together and play and he’s on bass and I’m on drums, it sounds like Nirvana. We just make that sound when we play together. It’s really great”.
