On July 10, a new anniversary of the birth of Ronnie James Dio is commemorated and a virtual event is being prepared that will raise funds for the foundation that bears the name of the singer, Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, and is dedicated to the fight against cancer.
The entity will join forces with virtual event producers Rolling Live Studios to celebrate Ronnie’s birthday on Saturday, July 10. The global livestream fundraising event will bring together celebrities and fans from around the world to honor Dio’s undeniable impact both on and off stage. Ronnie, frontman of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and DIO, lost his battle with gastric cancer in 2010.
Featured on rollinglivestudios.com starting at 2 PM PDT, this star-studded event, hosted by Eddie Trunk and Matt Pinfield, will feature special guest performances, interviews and birthday greetings from artists like Tony Iommi. The live broadcast of Stand Up And Shout For Ronnie James Dio’s Birthday will feature new performances and tales from Ronnie’s friends and fans, as well as exclusive archival footage of Dio’s life and long career, and never-before-seen footage of the Dio Cancer Fund events held in Los Angeles since 2011, when the organization began. Through musical performances and storytelling, a wide range of guests will celebrate the life of a man who profoundly influenced their lives through his art and his larger than life presence.
