Symphonic concert as a tribute to Pink Floyd reactivates live events in Cuenca | Music | Entertainment

The musical event will be held in the capital of Azuaya on Saturday, June 12 at 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

With a symphonic concert in tribute to the British rock band Pink Floyd, the reactivation of the cultural sector in the city of Cuenca (Azuay) begins to awaken. An effort that was cut short in March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, is resumed this Saturday the 12th with two face-to-face recitals at the Theater House of Culture Cuenca.

The tribute entitled Pink Floyd Symphonic It began to be resumed last March when the musicians got together to practice hard up to twice a week with the aim of achieving a perfect coupling and everything at the level of the honored group, said Adriana Loor, representative of Thunder Shows.

In addition to the basic biosecurity measures such as the use of a mask and social distancing, they added other individuals such as the use of their own microphones and instruments, which has allowed them to avoid COVID-19 infections and improve their musical times.

Keeping the same precautions for the musicians and for the public, this is how this Saturday’s event will unfold. An important aspect is that the capacity will be reduced to guarantee that the assistants maintain the 2 meters of distance between each one.

The band that will interpret the record history of the English group is called Pink Floyd Experience and will be made up of experienced national artists such as Ernesto López, Esther Chiriboga, Jordan Naranjo and David Lara, among others, completing 18 musicians on stage. While the baton of the symphonic accompanists will be in charge of the maestro Felipe Aizaga, violinist from Quito, director of the Fosje.

Who will put the main voice in this concert will be James Sloan, a musician who has participated in bands such as Blaze, Hostill or El Delicado Sonido del Trueno. He explained that for two and a half hours they will go through the entire discography interpreting a variety of songs, from the least known to the most mediatic, “all with the aim of satisfying the taste of all the fans.”

Without giving details, he indicated that in addition to the musical, attendees will enjoy a visual experience, just as the Floyd did in their live encounters.

Tickets are available on the digital platform meet2go.com, but also on the day of the event, that is, this Saturday, June 12 at 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The ticket has a cost of $ 30 box (the rest of the seats were sold). The event will be replicated on June 26 at the Casa de la Música, in Quito, but with the expectation of taking it to other cities in the short term. (E)
