The Euro 2020 soccer tournament is almost here and with that comes a new song, but who is singing the official song this time?
Gareth Southgate named his 26-man squad on June 1 as the delayed 2020 tournament, canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, continues to excite soccer fans around the world.
This year’s tournament will take place in 11 host cities as Portugal looks to defend its 2016 title.
Rome will host the first game on Friday June 11 and Wembley will host the final on July 11.

What is the official single of Euro 2020?
This year’s song is called ‘We Are The People’.
The song was officially released on May 14, 2021, less than a month before the tournament begins.
UEFA claims that the official song was written to ‘celebrate Euro 2020 football and festivity’ and is a song that ‘looks at the challenges facing the world and, at the same time, seeks to find a unified answer to these problems’ .

This year’s song sees U2 legends Bono and The Edge join forces with world-renowned DJ / producer Martin Garrix.
“Creating the music for one of the biggest sporting events in the world together with Bono and The Edge has been an incredible experience,” said Garrix.
‘I am so proud of what we did together and excited to finally share it with the world!’
This is not the first time that two artists have collaborated for a European single: David Guetta and Zara Larsson, whose song ‘This One’s For You’ was the official song of Euro 2016.
