The Center for Professional Artistic Music Education ‘Madonna del Prado’ from Talavera de la Reina It plans to start its teaching activity next academic year 2021/2022, as confirmed by the owner and promoter of the same, Maria del Carmen Ruiz Martinez, to the mayor of the City of Ceramics, Tita Garcia Élez.
This was pointed out by the councilor after the visit made this Friday to the facilities of what will be the first privately-owned teaching center approved to teach professional music in Talavera, which has been installed in the unique building known as House of the Forero, in the Talaverana Plaza de Aravaca, acquired by the developer and rehabilitated for this purpose.
It is precisely to this rehabilitation that the mayor referred during her visit to the emblematic building, signifying and valuing the work carried out in “a patrimonial element that had been closed for many years, which is a symbol in the surroundings of the Plaza de Aravaca and that now it recovers, opens up and fills itself with life ”with the aforementioned center which, as this newspaper reported in the scoop in September 2020, will bear the name of ‘Madonna del Prado‘.
Tita Garcia has also thanked “the private investment that – according to the official note released by the municipal Press Office – will make it possible for the Conservatory of Music to become a reality in a few months and place Talavera as a cultural benchmark beyond the city, in this case in the musical field “.
It should be clarified in this regard for the best information of the readers that, despite the words of the mayor, probably due to a lapse, the ‘Madonna del Prado‘It is a Center for Professional Artistic Music Teaching and not a Conservatory proper and legally said; in any case, in colloquial language, we could refer to it as ‘private conservatory’.
In this sense, it should be noted that from the “professional music teaching center” itself, as defined by those responsible for the project, it is pointed out that its objective is “to contribute to the cultural educational development of Talavera” and its mission “to offer teaching quality private music, based on a pedagogical methodology of excellence that combines experiences and knowledge of national and international professionals “.
Although as we reported at the time the intention of Maria del Carmen Ruiz was to start the activity of the center during this 2020/2021 academic year, the COVID pandemic has prevented those plans from being fulfilled and has forced to postpone the inauguration of the ‘Madonna del Prado” to the next academic year 2021/2022, once the rehabilitation and conditioning works have been completed, the mandatory opening license is obtained.
PROJECT IN TWO PHASES
The forecasts of the promoter of the center is to develop the project in two phases. In the first, which will begin next academic year 2021/2022, it contemplates the start-up of the same as an elementary and professional education center; while the second will entail the expansion to a higher education center.
As regards the initial phase, the center ‘Madonna del Prado‘is designed to house and instruct 250 students with a staff of 22 teachers and capable of teaching the specialties of Singing, Clarinet, Double Bass, Transverse Flute, Bassoon, Guitar, Oboe, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Horn, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Cello, Organ and Harpsichord.
