Juventus transfer market, Ronaldo after the European Championships think about the future

The Portuguese does not speak but there are no movements on other fronts (Psg, Real and United). Even at CR7 and Giorgina’s home there are no unusual movements or signs of a move

A week after the disappointment against Belgium that cost him the exclusion from the European Championship in the round of 16, the time has come for Cristiano Ronaldo to decide on his future. The silence around the Portuguese gives more credence to his stay at Juventus every day, confirming what was told by the director Federico Cherubini a few days ago at the press conference: “We have no signal from the player and his entourage that can suggest a transfer, for us he has a central role and we are happy to have him in the team ”.

For now there are not even major openings from one of the three fronts that in recent weeks have hinted at an early sale: Psg (with the sale of Mbappé), Manchester United (exchange with Pogba, currently a very difficult scenario) and Real Madrid ( but the return of Carlo Ancelotti does not seem to have made Florentino Perez change his mind).

In black and white

CR7 would find under the Mole Max Allegri, with whom the relationship in Juve’s first year was good but ended with that gesture at the end of the match with Ajax that caused enough discussion. Perhaps more an instinctive act dictated by the anger and disappointment of the moment (a week ago he threw the Portugal captain’s armband to the ground), also because between the coach and the player there was always mutual respect: Ronaldo was even described between the elements of the locker room most saddened by the divorce between Max and the club in the spring of 2019. And perhaps he also regretted the Livorno coach the following year, when he was unable to find the right feeling with Sarri. In short, the idea of returning to work with Allegri does not displease him: Cristiano knows well that he would keep a central role in the project and would have the opportunity to continue his series of records in Juventus, in the face of the club’s ambition to return to win in Italy and regain share in Europe.

In the meantime, moments of normal everyday life are experienced inside the footballer’s Turin residence. It is true that Cristiano and Georgina have not seen each other since the end of the championship (he flew directly from Bologna to reach Lisbon and take a few days off before retiring with the Portuguese national team), but from the villa in the hills there is the usual comings and goings of domestic workers and employees to maintenance who have the task of keeping everything in order. No moving scene or presumed such in the last period, after those images that some time ago portrayed a transport company in charge of the transfer of some cars of the champion and that had scared the fans. In Turin, therefore, the return of Cristiano is expected after the holidays, as in the Continassa.

CR7’s contract with Juventus expires on June 30, 2022. The size of his contract (31 million net per season) sweeps away any speech relating to his last year of relationship, rather the news filtered by Portugal does not find confirmation – so far – approximately an extension until 2023 with a downward adjustment of the seasonal salary. In this sense, the president Andrea Agnelli explained how “we are still in the phase of completing the pool of banks that will follow us in the capital increase, then all the assessments on the risks associated with the activity will be made. Ronaldo was one of the first operations that involved multiple areas. To date, it has a positive MPV, net of Covid. We will start from there and we will do all the evaluations ”. For now, therefore, Cristiano remains at Juve to honor the contract signed in the summer of 2018. There is no certainty of tomorrow, but in the next few days a contact between Mendes and Cherubini could definitively close the hypothesis of an early sale.
