Father Bruce, 71, is one of the most famous artists of all time.
Now the daughter Jessica, 29, is making her debut on the sport’s biggest stage.
– It has always been my dream, she says about participating in the Olympics.
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen needs no further presentation. “The Boss”, as he is called, is known worldwide for songs such as “The River”, “Dancing In the Dark”, “I’m On Fire” and “Born in the USA”, to name a few.
In a few weeks, it’s time for his daughter Jessica to step onto the biggest stage in sports.
The 29-year-old, who is a successful rider, is in fact selected in the US national jumping team for the Olympics in Tokyo, which starts on July 24.
Ratad i Rio
Jessica Springsteen started riding when she was four years old and has a nice track record, but this will be her debut in the Olympics.
She was a reserve at the London Olympics in 2012 and was last ruled out, in Rio 2016.
But now it’s time.
With the horse Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, she is one of four teams that will defend the colors of the United States.
– The Olympics is definitely something I aim for. It has always been my dream to represent the United States in a major championship, she said in an interview earlier this year.
“My biggest supporters”
She became a professional in 2014 and has since raised about $ 2 million in prize money for her sport. Her parents have stayed in the background, but have always supported both her efforts and the US national team.
– They are my biggest supporters. I do not think dad gets as nervous as mom, but both love to come to my competitions. They love this sport as much as I do, she said according to NJ.com.
Jessica Springsteen is ranked third on the American equestrian list. Kent Farrington (with Gazelle), Laura Kraut (with Baloutinue) and McLain Ward (with Contagious) join her at the Olympics.
