If they thought the DCEU wouldn’t get any rougher than Zack Snyder’s Justice League, they seem to be wrong. Actor Joel Kinnaman says that The Suicide Squad, the film for that franchise that James Gunn is preparing, will have an R rating or at least that is what the script gave them to understand. The interpreter promises an experience in the cinema for fans of gore and that he believes will be better enjoyed in theaters, even if it also reaches HBO Max.

In an interview with the podcast Lights Camera Barstool, the actor Joel Kinnaman revealed that The Suicide Squad it will probably deserve an adult rating. This is because it contains many gore scenes, which are used for comedy purposes, and also with some sexual moments that are sure to be disturbing. This was what he was able to anticipate about his next film and that of the director James Gunn:
Suicide Squad will really be one of those movies that gets better with collective experience, because I think it’s that kind of movie. Although it is going to be shown on HBO Max, I hope that as many people as possible will go to see it in theaters, I think they will have a much better experience. It’s going to be a lot of fun, a lot of gore. I think there will be many moments when everything is elevated if you see it together with a large group of people, laughing together as a group. It feels good. It’s a hard R. There’s really a lot of gore, but in a comical way and it’s sexually kinky too.
Fortunately, the actor did not go into details about the sexual nature of the perversion that we can expect from the film. Something that we already suspected is that there would be a lot of violence due to the film’s own premise, as its title indicates, we will be with a group of villains who, if they refuse to carry out their mission or disobey the rules, are killed by a bomb on their necks and controlled from a distance by the relentless Amanda Waller (Viola Davis).
The cast of this film, which is a kind of reboot / sequel to Suicide Squad – 25%, is much larger than its predecessor and has some very ridiculous characters that, surely, will be some of those that we will see in pieces. There’s no official word yet on the film’s rating, but with the Snyder Cut having the same and Deadpool’s background – 84% and Logan – 93%, it may not be a problem to see all this gore that we are being told about.

Kinnaman will return as Rick Flagg, an elite soldier tasked with leading the villain team. Details about the plot have not yet been revealed, but it is known that Task Force-X will have to travel to a South American island to destroy a laboratory in which macabre experiments are being carried out. Gunn, the film’s director, said it was inspired by war movies of the 1970s and that it is the largest in scale he has been able to make so far.
The Suicide Squad It will hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6. The film is still in post-production and most likely in April, perhaps before the premiere of Godzilla vs. Kong, we already have a trailer. So far we have only seen behind-the-scenes footage that barely introduces us to the basic idea of the production, as well as the large cast that will feature.
