It all started in 1940 with the arrest of an English merchant and the subsequent visit of a military man, Taiji (Masahiro Higashide), to the offices of Yusaku (Issey Takahashi), a successful businessman from Kobe. Japan is entering a warlike and nationalistic climate so Taiji suspects that Yusaku may be involved in some espionage matter, especially for some of his commercial transactions and his taste for Western products. But he does not press too hard, perhaps due to lack of evidence or, more likely, because the wife of the businessman in question is Satoko (Yû Aoi), a childhood friend of his who is an actress and from whom, it will be discovered shortly after, the man follows in love.
NYC epicenters 9/11 2021 1/2”
It is presented as a documentary on the resilience of New York. The miniseries chronicles the survival of the city’s inhabitants from the 9/11 attack to the Covid-19 pandemic. 20 years after the attack, it seeks to expose to the world the events that occurred since the attack on the Twin Towers and that have marked the history of New York. This title was produced and directed by the acclaimed Oscar-winning director, Spike Lee, who for four intense chapters, shares testimonies and stories from those who have witnessed the challenges experienced by the inhabitants of “The Big Apple.” The chronicle is narrated in reverse, beginning with the pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, until finally reaching the attacks of September 11. To achieve a truthful and transparent account, Lee had to conduct nearly 200 interviews with all types of New Yorkers: politicians, journalists, first responders, doctors, engineers, architects, journalists and even his own family, all present at the events exposed.

The musical incorporates pop songs by contemporary global artists and original songs by Cabello and Idina Menzel.
