Zendaya refused to have her first kiss be on ‘Shake It Up!’

Before becoming the megastar that she is right now and the voice of an entire generation thanks to her roles in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ or in the series ‘Euphoria’, Zendaya became known much earlier, at the young age of 14 years. It was at this age that the actress had her first role on the Disney Channel series ‘Shake It Up!’, which she starred in with actress Bella Thorne between 2010 and 2013. Now, in an interview with British Vogue, the actress has talked about her experience in this series, specifically in relation to her first kiss.

Referring to her early roles on the Disney Channel, the actress had this to say when discussing ‘Shake It Up’: “I remember being on ‘Shake It Up’ and being like, ‘I’m not going to do this. I’m going to kiss him on the cheek because they haven’t kissed me yet, so I don’t want my first kiss to be in front of the cameras. The actress played the young Rocky Blue in this series, who formed a dance duo with CeCe Jones, the character of Bella Thorne. The boy Zendaya may be referring to may be the one played by Adam Irigoyen in the series, his character’s romantic interest.

Shortly after appearing in this series, Zendaya had a starring role in another Disney Channel youth fiction, ‘KC Special Agent’, in which she played the young spy KC Cooper. Then his roles in ‘The Great Showman’ and in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ would come. The actress has commented that sometimes she does not think about what step to take next or what role to play next: “I have never been one of those who think ‘I want to do this at that moment, then with these years I want to do this another’. Someday I will have a family, but he tried not to have it planned, if it has to happen, it will happen”.

The actress, who premiered the film ‘Malcolm & Marie’ with John David Washington earlier this year, has been these last months working on the second season of the series ‘Euphoria’, for whose first season she won the Emmy for best actress. The date on which these new chapters of the acclaimed youth series in which Zendaya stars alongside actress Hunter Schafer will be released is unknown at the moment.

About to release ‘Dune’

The next thing we will see of the actress will be the long-awaited ‘Dune’, the new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel. In this interview the actress has also talked about her involvement in this film, commenting especially on how well he has gotten along with Timothée Chalamet, one of his co-stars in the movie. “I was the only person in the entire cast who was closest to him in terms of age. So he was like, ‘Great, finally someone who understands my jokes!'”, says the actress.

Zendaya counts that between scene and scene they both put music and danced. The actress says of the protagonist of ‘Call Me By Your Name’ the following: “He’s clearly a very talented actor, but he’s also a wonderful person and a very good friend. Especially in this industry, it’s great to have other people who are going through the same thing as well, to be able to talk to.”.

‘Dune’ hits Spanish cinemas next September 17th.
